Blower Motor Control Module Replacement CJ2

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the right side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  3. Object Number: 295319  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor control module.

  5. Object Number: 295327  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the blower motor control module electrical connector from the blower motor.

  7. Object Number: 295320  Size: SH

    Important: The opening to the blower motor control module is slotted. Access to the blower motor control module opening is limited.

  8. Loosen both of the forward bolts.
  9. Remove the rearward bolt.
  10. Important: Tilt down the rear of the blower motor control module. .

  11. Remove the blower control module.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 295320  Size: SH

    Important: Align the blower motor control module forward retaining slots onto bolts and seat against HVAC module.

  1. Install the blower motor control module.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the blower motor control module rearward bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the blower motor control module bolt to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  5. Install the blower motor control module forward bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the blower motor control module bolts to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  7. Connect the blower motor control module electrical connector to the blower motor.

  8. Object Number: 295319  Size: SH
  9. Connect the electrical connector from the blower motor control module.
  10. Install the right side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  11. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
