  1. Inspect the suspected backup lamp bulbs for damage or an open filament.
  2. Inspect the left or right backup connector seals for damage or absence.

Are the backup lamp bulbs and the connectors OK?

  1. Remove the inoperative backup lamp.
  2. Apply the park brake.
  3. Shift the transaxle into the REVERSE position.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  5. Using a test light, probe between the inoperative backup lamp connector terminal A and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Repair a poor connection or an open in circuit 350 between the backup lamp harness connector terminal G and G402.

Is the repair complete?

Repair a poor connection or an open in circuit 24 between S927 and the backup lamp harness connector terminal A.

Is the repair complete?
