The following radio and radio controls are available for the 2000 Buick GLX or GL:
• | Radio, AM/FM Stereo, Seek/Scan, Automatic Reverse Music Search Cassette, Automatic Tone, Clock, ETR. (ULO) |
• | Radio Controls, Rear Seat and Earphone Jacks, GLX only. (UK6) |
The range for most AM (Amplitude Modulated) stations is greater than for FM (Frequency Modulation), especially at night. Longer range, however, can cause stations to interfere with each other. AM can pick up noise from things like storms and power lines. Reducing the treble may reduce this noise.
FM (Frequency Modulation) stereo will give you the best sound. But FM signals will reach only about 16 to 65 km (10 to 40 miles). Tall buildings or hills can interfere with FM signals, causing the sound to come and go. If reception is poor, tune to a stronger station.
All factory equipped sound systems with a FM stereo radio will switch to stereo operation whenever a FM stereo broadcast is being received. An ST or STEREO indicator will light on the display. Stereo operation means the radio is separating a stereo broadcast back into the original two channels, called left and right.
The rear seat radio controls are located on the rear face of the front floor console.
You can control certain functions from the rear seat using the buttons on the rear face of the center console.
The rear window antenna is mounted above the defogger grid on the rear window glass. This system is able to increase the signal strength and improve the radio reception.
Performance enhance audio speaker system.
