Method 1 - No Tools Required
In the event that a transmitter is lost, program the old and the new transmitters into the memory of the remote control door lock receiver. Up to 4 transmitters may be programmed.
Important:
• Once you begin this procedure, programming the first transmitter
will erase all previous transmitters. You must program all of the transmitters. • Program one vehicle at a time. One transmitter may be programmed
into other vehicles that are also on the program mode in close proximity.
- Sit in the driver's seat.
- Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
- Close all of the vehicle doors.
- Press and hold the unlock button on the door lock switch.
- While holding the door lock switch in the unlock position, insert and remove the ignition key twice. Do not rotate the ignition lock cylinder.
- Insert the ignition key a third time leaving the key in the ignition lock cylinder. The ignition must remain in the LOCK position for the rest of the procedure.
- Release the door lock switch. You will hear 3 chimes. This chime feedback indicates that transmitter programming is active.
- Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time on the keyless entry transmitter for 12 seconds. You will hear 2 chimes. This chime feedback indicates that the transmitter has been programmed successfully.
- Repeat Step 8 for the rest of the transmitters (for a total of 4 transmitters).
- Exit this procedure by removing the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Method 2 - Scan Tool Required
In the event that a transmitter is lost, program the old and the new transmitters into the memory of the remote control door lock receiver. Up to 4 transmitters may be programmed.
Important: Once the keyless entry receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode, programming the first transmitter will erase all previous transmitter programming information. You must program all of the transmitters.
Program only 1 vehicle remote control door lock receiver at a time. If you program multiple receivers simultaneously, the same transmitter may possibly be programmed to more than 1 remote control door lock receiver.The following procedure describes how to program the remote control door lock transmitters to the remote control door lock receiver using the scan tool:
- Connect the scan tool to the following components:
- Turn ON the ignition.
- At the application menu screen, select F0 (body control module).
- At the body control module screen, select F2 (special functions).
- At the special functions menu screen, select F3 (program key fobs).
- Follow the directions on the scan tool display in order to program the transmitters.
- Press EXIT repeatedly until you view the application menu screen.
- Disconnect the scan tool from the following components:
- Verify that all of the transmitters that were programmed operate properly. Refer to Keyless Entry System Operation .
