The mechanical components of the door are lubricated during assembly. If additional lubrication is required use the following lubricants. All door lock cylinders should be lubricated with a multi-purpose lubricant, Super-Lube® GM P/N 12346241or equivalent. The remainder of all door hardware mechanisms except locks can be lubricated with lubriplate auto-lube A GM P/N 1052196 or equivalent.

Hardware Attachment Threadlocking

Some production door hardware attaching screws contain an epoxy threadlocking compound to ensure that the original torque settling will be maintained.

Service attaching screws may not contain a threadlocking compound. To prevent loosening of the service screws or to renew threadlocking characteristics of production screws, the threads of the fastener(s) can be treated with adhesive/sealant compound GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent. Upon installation and drying the adhesive cures to bond the attachment and to prevent it from backing out. The adhesive bond does not prevent future attachment removal if required. Adhesive/Sealant Compound or equivalent can be used on any threaded fastener.
