Removal Procedure

The following procedures describe the replacement of the major component parts of the seat adjusters.


    Object Number: 292152  Size: SH
  1. Remove the seat from the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket for bucket seats or Split Bench Seat Replacement for bench seats.
  2. Remove the adjuster from the seat. Refer to Seat Adjuster Phase Adjustment .
  3. Important: Initial removal of the nut securing motor support bracket is suggested to gain access to the cable connector at motor for the inboard (passenger side) or the outboard (driver side) rear vertical gearnut.

  4. Remove the nut that attaches the motor support bracket.
  5. Use a flat-bladed tool to remove the two dual retainer clips that attach the drive cables (8,10) to the vertical gear nuts.
  6. Squeeze the oblong connector at the motors and the vertical/horizontal actuators in order to disconnect the cables.
  7. Remove the cables.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the cables.
  2. Insert the square ends of the drive cables (8,10) and press in to secure the connectors.
  3. Install the two dual retainer clips.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the motor support bracket nut.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the Actuator motor bracket to seat adjuster nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the adjuster to the seat. Refer to Seat Adjuster Phase Adjustment .
  8. Install the seat in the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket for bucket seats or Split Bench Seat Replacement for bench seats.
