J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Open the upper seat belt upper guide loop attachment cover.
2. Remove the upper seat belt guide loop attachment nut.
3. Remove the upper seat belt guide loop attachment from the adjuster bracket.



4. Use J 38778 to remove the upper trim panel from the center pillar.

1. Install the upper trim panel to center pillar.
2. Push firmly on the upper trim panel to seat the retainers.
3. Install the upper seat belt upper guide loop attachment to the adjuster bracket.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

4. Install the upper seat belt guide loop attachment nut.

Tighten
Tighten the upper seat belt guide loop attachment nut to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).
