Removal Procedure

Important: To prevent EVAP system contamination, clean the pipe connections before disassembly.

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve harness connector.

  3. Object Number: 669537  Size: SH

    Important: Cap the EVAP purge pipe to prevent contamination in the EVAP purge pipe.

  4. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve pipe and vacuum supply hose.

  5. Object Number: 576032  Size: SH
  6. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve retaining bolt.
  7. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve from the intake manifold.
  8. Test for contamination in the EVAP canister purge valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission System Cleaning .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 576032  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Position the EVAP canister purge valve on the intake manifold and install the retainer bolt.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the EVAP canister purge valve retaining bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the EVAP canister purge pipe and the vacuum supply hose.
  4. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve harness connector.
