Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

  1. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  3. Place the front fog lamp switch in the OFF position.

Are the front fog lamps off?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

Remove front fog lamp relay 16.

Do the front fog lamps turn off?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

Connect a test lamp between the coil side feed of the front fog lamp relay and the control circuit of the front fog lamp relay.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 8

Test for a short to battery voltage in the control circuit of the front fog lamp relay. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 7

Test for a short to battery voltage in the front fog lamp supply voltage circuit and the front fog lamp indicator supply voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the front fog lamp switch. Refer to Fog Lamp Switch Replacement .

Has the repair been made?

Go to Step 10

Replace the front fog lamp relay 16.

Has the repair been made?

Go to Step 10

Replace the underhood junction block. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.

Has the repair been made?

Go to Step 10

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK

Do the rear fog lamps turn off?

Go to Step 4

Test for a short to ground in the control circuit of the rear fog lamp relay. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair a short to battery voltage in the rear fog lamp supply voltage circuit or the rear fog lamp indicator supply voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the Body Control Module (BCM). Refer to Body Control Module Replacement .

Replace the rear fog lamp relay.
