For 1990-2009 cars only
- The piston, piston pin and connecting rod assembly is of the full floating type.
- Remove the piston rings from the pistons using a suitable piston ring expander tool. Do not reuse the piston rings.
- Remove the piston snap rings (1) using a small screwdriver. Do not gouge the piston when removing the snap rings.
- Slide the piston pin out of the piston and connecting rod.
- Arrange the pistons, pins, rings, connecting rods and bearings in correct order.
Caution: Handle the piston carefully. Worn piston rings are sharp and may cause bodily injury.
