Did you perform the Door Systems Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Door Systems

Verify that the inoperative passenger door power window fault is present.

Do the passenger door power windows operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step  3

Is the inoperative window the front passenger window?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Are the driver, LR and RR windows all inoperative?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 6

1. Disconnect the front passenger window switch.
2. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off.
3. Probe the accessory voltage circuit of the front passenger window switch with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 16

1. Disconnect the appropriate window switch.
2. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off.
3. Probe the power window master switch lockout signal circuit of the appropriate window switch with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 10

1. Disconnect the appropriate window switch.
2. Connect a test lamp between the power window master switch up circuit of the appropriate window switch and the power window master switch down signal circuit of the appropriate window switch.
3. Activate the appropriate driver window switch to the UP and DOWN positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both positions?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 11

1. Connect the appropriate window switch.
2. Disconnect the appropriate window motor.
3. Connect a test lamp between the power window motor up circuit of the appropriate window motor and the power window motor down circuit of the appropriate window motor.
4. Activate the appropriate window switch to the UP and DOWN positions.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both positions?

Go to Step 14

Test the accessory voltage circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 20

Test the power window master switch lockout signal circuit of the appropriate window switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 20

Go to Step 13

Test the appropriate power window master switch signal circuits of the appropriate window switch for a short to voltage or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 20

Test the appropriate power window motor up and down circuits of the appropriate window motor for a short to voltage or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the driver window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate window motor. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the appropriate window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the accessory voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the driver window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement - Left Side .

Did you complete the replacement?

Replace the appropriate window motor. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement or Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 20

Replace the appropriate window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement - Right Side or Rear Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 20

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
