The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Condition/Concern:

Early release Gen 5 hardware may set a current B1000 that can be re-flashed with the Tech 2 and SPS programming.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Using the Tech 2, enter special function and complete the B1000 test. If applicable, document the following information Min, MDN, transceiver ID and units before completing the request information from the SPS programming menu. Connect the Tech 2 to TIS terminal and follow all the listed instructions and steps requested. Before attempting to reflash the ECU, ensure the vehicle battery is fully charged. Once the ECU reflash is completed in vehicle approximately 12 minutes, the MDN will need to be reprogram and a step up new OnStar completed. Press the OnStar blue button and request a full unit configuration and OPC re-enabled. Verify the functionality of the OnStar system and OPC prior to releasing the vehicle.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
