The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The LY7 and LP1 V6 engine do not use a magnet on the engine oil drain plug, although the drain plug may have a cavity where it appears that a magnet should be.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Do not replace the drain plug for this condition.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
