Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure.
The key cylinder unlock feature will unlock all of the doors when the body control module (BCM) receives a KEYUNLK input signal for greater than 1 second. This feature is disabled from the factory and can be enabled using a scan tool. If the BCM detects this circuit is shorted to ground, DTC B3064 or B3069 is set.
Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts.
The BCM detects the Door Lock Key Switch Lock Signal circuit is shorted to ground.
The BCM detects the Door Lock Key Switch Unlock Signal circuit is shorted to ground
The conditions above must be present for more than 60 seconds
• | The BCM stores the DTC to memory. |
• | The door lock actuators will not lock or unlock. |
• | This DTC will change from current to history when the fault is no longer present. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present. |
• | The technician issues a scan tool CLEAR DTCs command. |

Power Door Locks Description and Operation
Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Door Lock switch parameters while pressing both the door lock and door unlock switches. The reading should change between ON and OFF.
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal B for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
