Removal Procedure
- Remove the inflator fill
valve access cover.
- Remove the lower rear quarter trim panel. Refer to
Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Disconnect the inflator solenoid electrical connector.
- Disconnect the air tubes from the inflator solenoid.
- Remove the inflator solenoid
fill valve cap.
- Remove the inflator solenoid fill valve nut and washer.
- Remove the inflator solenoid nut.
- Remove the inflator solenoid.
Installation Procedure
- Install the inflator solenoid.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the inflator
solenoid nut.
Tighten
Tighten the inflator solenoid nut to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Install the inflator solenoid fill valve washer and nut.
Tighten
Tighten the inflator solenoid fill valve nut to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Install the inflator solenoid fill valve cap.
- Connect the air tubes
to the inflator solenoid.
- Connect the inflator solenoid electrical connector.
- Install the inflator control panel.
- Install the inflator fill valve access cover.
