Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Place the hazard switch to the ON position.

Do the hazard lamps turn ON?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Remove the hazard flasher.
  2. Using a test lamp, backprobe the center fuse block between battery positive voltage and the hazard switch signal circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Test for a high resistance, open or a short to battery positive voltage in the hazard switch signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the hazard flasher. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the multifunction turn signal and hazard switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the hazard flasher.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 9

Replace the multifunction turn signal and hazard switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
