Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Place the hazard switch to OFF.

Are the hazard lamps OFF?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Remove the hazard flasher.

Do the hazard lamps turn OFF?

Go to Step 4

Inspect for a short to ground in the hazard switch signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

  1. Disconnect C201.
  2. Connect a test light between battery positive voltage and hazard switch signal circuit at C201.
  3. Place the hazard switch to the OFF position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Inspect for poor connection at the harness connectors of the underhood fuse block. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 12

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the multifunction turn signal and hazard switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the hazard flasher. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the console fuse block. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the replacement?

Replace the multifunction turn signal and hazard switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.

Replace the hazard flasher.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
