Tail Lamp Assembly and /or Backup, Sidemarker, Stop, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement Aztek
Removal Procedure
- Open the liftgate.
- Remove the screws from the tail lamp.
- Pull the tail lamp rearward to disengage it from the ball stud retainers.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the tail lamp wiring harness.
- Remove the tail lamp and backup lamp sockets, depressing the locking tab and rotating counterclockwise.
- Remove the side marker lamp socket from the tail lamp by rotating counterclockwise.
- Remove the bulbs from the tail lamp, backup lamp and/or side marker lamp sockets.
Installation Procedure
- Install the bulbs to the tail lamp, backup lamp and/or side marker lamp sockets.
- Install the tail lamp and/or backup lamp sockets to the tail lamp, rotating clockwise until the locking tab is fully seated.
- Install the side marker lamp socket to the tail lamp, rotating clockwise until fully seated.
- Connect the electrical connector to the tail lamp wiring harness.
- Position the tail lamp ball stud retainers to the rear body panel.
- Press the tail lamp to the rear body panel until fully seated.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the tail lamp screws to the tail lamp.
Tighten
Tighten the tail lamp screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Close the liftgate.
Tail Lamp Assembly and /or Backup, Sidemarker, Stop, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement Rendezvous
Removal Procedure
- Open the liftgate.
- Remove the screws from the tail amp.
- Slide the tail lamp rearward in order to disengage it from the retainers on the rear body panel.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the tail lamp wiring harness.
- Remove the tail lamp and side marker lamp sockets from the tail lamp, depressing the locking tab and turning counterclockwise.
- Remove the bulbs from the tail lamp and the side marker lamp sockets, if replacing the bulbs.
Installation Procedure
- Install the bulbs to the tail lamp and side marker lamp sockets, if removed.
- Install the tail lamp and side marker lamp sockets to the tail lamp, turning clockwise until the locking tab is fully seated.
- Connect the tail lamp electrical connector to the wiring harness.
- Position the tail lamp retainer slots to the tabs on the rear body panel.
- Install the tail lamp to the rear body panel, pressing into place until fully seated.

must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring

Tighten
Tighten the tail lamp screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
