Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine
Electrical.
- Remove the front floor console. Refer to
Front Floor Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages and
Console.
- Disconnect the body control
module (BCM) electrical connectors (1, 2, 3).
- Disconnect the console
accessory wiring junction block electrical connectors (1, 2).
- Release the console accessory
wiring junction block retainers (1).
- Remove the console accessory wiring junction block (2)
out of the console accessory wiring junction block bracket.
- Remove the BCM. Refer to
Body Control Module Replacement
in Body Control System.
Installation Procedure
- Install the BCM. Refer to
Body Control Module Replacement
in Body Control System.
- Install the console accessory
wiring junction block (2) into the console accessory wiring junction
block bracket.
- Secure the console accessory wiring junction block retainers (1).
- Connect the console accessory
wiring junction block electrical connectors (1, 2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the console accessory wiring junction block electrical connectors
bolts (1, 2) finger tight until seated.
Tighten
Tighten the console accessory wiring junction block electrical connectors
bolts to 6 N·m (54 lb in).
- Connect the BCM electrical
connectors (1, 2, 3).
- Install the front floor console. Refer to
Front Floor Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages and
Console.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine
Electrical.
