Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the lift gate applique. Refer to Liftgate Applique Replacement in Body Rear End.
  2. Remove the lift gate handle. Refer to Endgate Handle Replacement in Body Rear End.
  3. Remove the lift gate lower molding. Refer to Liftgate Lower Molding Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 851577  Size: SH
  5. Remove the screws from the lift gate upper molding.

  6. Object Number: 851580  Size: SH
  7. Remove the lift gate upper molding from the lift gate.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 851577  Size: SH
  1. Position the lift gate upper molding to the lift gate.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the lift gate upper molding screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.0 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the lift gate lower molding. Refer to Liftgate Lower Molding Replacement .
  6. Install the lift gate applique. Refer to Liftgate Applique Replacement in Body Rear End.
  7. Install the lift gate handle. Refer to Endgate Handle Replacement in Body Rear End.
