Removal Procedure

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Mark the location of the liftgate wedge on the liftgate spacer.
  3. Remove the screw from the liftgate wedge.
  4. Slide the liftgate wedge rearward to remove it from the liftgate wedge spacer.
  5. Using a flat bladed tool, remove the liftgate wedge spacer from the body.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the liftgate wedge spacer to the body.
  2. Position the liftgate wedge to the liftgate wedge spacer and slide it forwarg to the marked location.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the liftgate wedge screw.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Close the liftgate.
