Removal Procedure

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Open the endgate.
  3. Disconnect the electrical harness from the endgate.

  4. Object Number: 743282  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts from the endgate hinge to endgate.
  6. Remove the endgate, with an assistant.

  7. Object Number: 743283  Size: SH
  8. Remove the endgate nuts from the endgate hinge.
  9. Remove the endgate hinge from the rear body panel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 743283  Size: SH
  1. Align the endgate hinge to the body rear end panel.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the endgate nuts to the endgate hinge.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the endgate nuts to 33 N·m (28 lb ft).

  5. Align the endgate to the endgate hinges, with an assistant.

  6. Object Number: 743282  Size: SH
  7. Install the endgate hinge to endgate bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the endgate bolts to 33 N·m (28 lb ft).

  9. Connect the electrical harness to the endgate.
  10. Close the endgate.
  11. Close the liftgate.
