When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Driver Information Center Compass display inaccurate
The DIC contains an 8-point self calibrating compass, but may not give accurate readings. The system may require magnetic variation adjustment using the correct variance zone number (i.e: 1-15). Then complete the self-calibration procedure. The calibration instructions are contained in SI (Example document 751571), and in the Owners manual, section 2.
It is always a good practice to verify calibration prior to customer delivery.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
