Subject: | Rear Park Assist (RPA) Chime Inoperative |
Models: | . |
When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Rear Park Assist (RPA) chime inoperative
The RPA chime may be inoperative and diagnostics may show no codes. One frequent point of confusion is that if a BCM has been replaced recently, and it is noticed that the ultrasonic RPA system CHIME does not work but the LEDs do, the BCM may not have been properly setup. When programming the BCM and choosing the options specific for RPA, there are TWO Rear Park Assist choices listed and BOTH need to be selected. When done in this manner, the CHIMES will operate as intended. If the BCM has just been replaced and is not 'secured' due to key cycles, go back in and also select the second RPA option. If this cannot be accomplished, the BCM will have to be replaced using the above information in the setup. Techline has been requested to investigate issue for greater simplification.
