HUD Radio Frequency Displayed Not Same As Radio Display - kw appearance control digital inaccurate intermittent IPC IP steering wheel proactive

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms in the PI.

HUD (RPO: UV6) radio frequency displayed is different from what radio shows or may trail the radio by several seconds if it changes at all.

This condition is found on vehicles with either RPO: U1P single CD) or U1Q-'dual playback' (cassette/CD). The UC6 6-disc CD/radio is not affected.

On the above equipped vehicles, when using the seek up/down button on either the steering wheel controls or on the radio, or when using the preset buttons to change the radio frequency, most of the time the correct radio frequency will not display in the HUD unless the volume or station on the radio is first adjusted. This period of time that the correct radio frequency is not displayed can vary from several seconds to an hour. The radio may not be sending instantaneous information out to the HUD over class-2. Contact a radio exchange center and request part number: 10352075(CD) or 10352074(Dual). Note: The exchange centers will only provide the listed part numbers and accept '02 and '03 radios for exchange for vehicles with the concern and RPOs mentioned above.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
