LY7 3.6 HVAC Inoperative Due to Refrigerant Over Charge - kw no cool low

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Customers may report that their 03 or 04 Buick Rendezvous equipped with the LY7 3.6 V6 air conditioning is inoperative at times. Initial findings show that the HVAC system was overcharged and could create this condition in areas with high ambient temperatures. Dealership technicians could misdiagnose the high side transducer as the cause.

Dealerships diagnosing such concerns should evacuate and recharge the HVAC system ensuring the unit has 1.68 lbs of refrigerant. The system should be re-evaluated and if the condition is still present, the diagnostics test in Service Information should be completed.
