02-04 Aztek / Rendezvous False DTCs - kw B2552 B2553 B2712 B2713 back BCM diagnostics gear high History lamp low shift

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Unable to find DTC information in SI or the Tech 2. There were 4 DTCs added to the 2002-04 Aztek/Rendezvous BCM software.

B2552 (Backup lamps control circuit low),

B2553 (Backup lamps control circuit high),

B2712 (Gearshift Lock circuit low) and

B2713 (Gearshift Lock circuit High).

Do not replace the BCM if any of these DTCs are history and/or not related to the customer complaint. Tech 2 and SI are being updated to add descriptions of the codes and instructions for repair.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
