Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 741937 Size: SH
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  3. Reposition the oil cooler outlet hose clamp at the thermostat bypass pipe.
  4. Remove the oil cooler outlet hose from the thermostat bypass pipe.
  5. Reposition the oil cooler outlet hose at the oil cooler.
  6. Remove the oil cooler outlet hose from the oil cooler.
  7. Remove the oil cooler pipe bolt at the engine mount strut/air conditioning (AC) compressor bracket.
  8. Remove the oil cooler pipe with hoses.

  9. Remove the oil cooler connector.

    10. Object Number: 190501 Size: SH
  10. Reposition the oil cooler inlet hose clamp at the oil cooler.
  11. Remove the oil cooler.

    12. Object Number: 190500 Size: SH
  12. Reposition the oil cooler inlet hose clamp at the fitting, if required.
  13. Remove the oil cooler inlet hose from the fitting, if required.

    14. Object Number: 190499 Size: SH
  14. Remove the oil cooler hose fitting, if required.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 190499 Size: SH
  1. Apply thread sealant to the oil cooler hose fitting threads, if required. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the correct part number.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the oil cooler hose fitting, if required.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).

  3. Install the oil cooler inlet hose to fitting, if required.
  4. Position the oil cooler inlet hose clamp at the fitting, if required.

    5. Object Number: 190501 Size: SH
  5. Install the oil cooler.
  6. Position the oil cooler inlet hose clamp at the oil cooler.

    7. Object Number: 190502 Size: SH
  7. Install the oil cooler connector.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the connector to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  8. Install the oil cooler pipe with hoses.
  9. Install the oil cooler pipe bolt at the engine mount strut/AC compressor bracket.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  10. Remove the oil cooler outlet hose from the oil cooler.
  11. Position the oil cooler outlet hose at the oil cooler.
  12. Install the oil cooler outlet hose to the thermostat bypass pipe.
  13. Position the oil cooler outlet hose clamp at the thermostat bypass pipe.
  14. Install a NEW oil filter and refill the engine with oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  15. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
