Water Outlet Replacement RPO LY7

1. Drain the cooling system until the level is below the thermostat. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the crossover exhaust pipe. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement .
3. Reposition the radiator inlet hose clamp at the water outlet.
4. Remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet.



5. Remove the water outlet bolts.
6. Remove the water outlet.



7. Remove and discard the water outlet gasket and O-ring seal.
8. Clean the water outlet sealing surfaces.

1. Install a NEW water outlet gasket and O-ring seal onto the water outlet.



2. Install the water outlet.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

3. Install the water outlet bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).





Important: Ensure that the engine fill neck is aligned in the vertical position.

4. Install the radiator inlet hose to the water outlet.
5. Position the radiator inlet hose clamp at the water outlet.
6. Install the crossover exhaust pipe. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement .
7. Fill the cooling system as needed. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
