Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1645182 Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the catalytic converter to muffler bolts.
  3. Reposition the muffler in order to access the heat shield rivets.

    4. Object Number: 1645245 Size: SH
  4. Drill out the muffler heat shield rivets.
  5. Remove the muffler heat shield.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1645245 Size: SH
  1. Position the muffler heat shield to the underbody.
  2. Install NEW rivets attaching the muffler heat shield.

    3. Object Number: 1645182 Size: SH
  3. Position the muffler. Ensure that the catalytic converter gasket is still in place.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the catalytic converter to muffler bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Lower the vehicle.
