Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 624218 Size: SH
  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the electrical harness from the hood latch support bracket.
  3. Remove the hood latch from the hood latch support bracket. Refer to Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 624216 Size: SH
  4. Remove the 4 bolts from the hood latch support bracket.

    5. Object Number: 624214 Size: SH
  5. Reposition the hood latch release cable from the hood latch support bracket.
  6. Remove the hood latch support bracket from the upper radiator tie bar.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 624214 Size: SH
  1. Install the hood latch support bracket to the upper radiator tie bar.

    2. Object Number: 624216 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the 4 bolts to the hood latch support bracket.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the hood latch support bracket bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Reposition the hood latch release cable to the hood latch support bracket.
  4. Install the hood latch to the hood latch support bracket. Refer to Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement .
  5. Adjust the hood, if required. Refer to Hood Adjustment .
  6. Connect the electrical harness to the hood latch support bracket.
  7. Close the hood.
