Makes 🢒 Buick 🢒 2006 🢒 Rendezvous - FWD 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column 🢒 Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 3.5L engine and Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for 3.6L engine.

    2. Object Number: 161164 Size: SH
  2. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the retaining clip from the automatic transaxle range selector cable.
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

    4. Object Number: 368792 Size: SH
  4. Use a large flat-bladed tool in order to remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the cable lever.
  5. Use pliers in order to depress the cable retainers.
  6. Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the automatic transaxle range selector cable bracket.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .

  9. Remove the retaining clip from the automatic transaxle range selector cable.
  10. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the column control lever.
  11. Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable from the steering column bracket.

    12. Object Number: 161138 Size: SH
  12. Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable through the cowl.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 161144 Size: SH
  1. Properly route the automatic transaxle range selector cable through the engine compartment.

    2. Object Number: 161138 Size: SH
  2. Install the automatic transaxle range selector cable through the cowl.

    3. Object Number: 161141 Size: SH
  3. Install the automatic transaxle range selector cable to the steering column bracket.
  4. Install the retaining clip to the automatic transaxle range selector cable.
  5. Install the automatic transaxle range selector cable to the column control lever.
  6. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .

    7. Object Number: 368792 Size: SH
  7. Install the A/T range selector cable to the A/T range selector cable bracket.
  8. Raise the vehicle.
  9. Install the A/T range selector cable to the A/T range selector lever.
  10. Lower the vehicle.

    11. Object Number: 161164 Size: SH
  11. Install the retaining clip to the automatic transaxle range selector cable.
  12. Adjust the automatic transaxle range selector cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment .
  13. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for the 3.5L engine and Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement for 3.6L engine.
