Compressor Pressure Relief Valve Replacement LX9

Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
2. Remove the A/C Compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.



3. Remove the high pressure relief valve from the A/C compressor.

1. Lubricate the high pressure relief valve O-ring. Refer to O-Ring Replacement.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




2. Install the high pressure relief valve to the A/C compressor.

Tighten
Tighten the valve to 12 N·m (9 lb ft).

3. Install the A/C compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.
4. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
5. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .

3. Remove the high pressure relief valve from the A/C compressor.

2. Install the high pressure relief valve to the A/C compressor.

Tighten
Tighten the valve to 12 N·m (9 lb ft).

3. Install the A/C compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.
4. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
5. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .
