Subject: | One or more Key fob will not recall stored memory seat / mirror positions |
Models: | 2004 - 2007 Buick Rendezvous |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some Buick Rendezvous customers may comment that their driver 1 or driver 2 seat recall and mirrors tilt will not return to the stored memory position upon entering the vehicle with the key fob. One possible cause could be the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) and MSM (Memory Seat Module) are not synchronized. Follow the below listed steps and retest.
Important Note: The memory recall feature will only function if there is a change of drivers (Key fob) detected by the BCM (Body Control Module) or the memory seat switch located on the door is used. Example: If driver one or two express exits and/or changes the seat/mirror setting then exits the vehicle the recall feature will not return to its stored settings when re-entering the vehicle. Driver one or two would need to use the memory seat switch settings located on the door to recall their position. Example: If driver 2 entered the vehicle after driver 1 exit, all the features will recall.
Repeat entire sequence for Driver 2 using the Driver 2 RKE fob.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
