Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the DIC switch.
  2. Ignition OFF, test for less than 1 ohm of resistance between the ground circuit and ground
  3. If greater than 1 ohm, test the ground circuit for and open/high resistance.
  4. Install a 3-amp fused jumper wire between the suspect switch signal circuit and ground. Verify the scan tool DIC Mode Button or DIC Reset Button parameter is On.
  5. If not On, test the suspect switch signal circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC.
  6. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the DIC switch.
