Makes 🢒 Buick 🢒 2007 🢒 Rendezvous - FWD 🢒 Steering 🢒 Power Steering 🢒 Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  3. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  4. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  5. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  6. Remove the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement .

    7. Object Number: 1798597 Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose fitting from the power steering pump. Discard the O-ring seal.

    8. Object Number: 1798366 Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose from the routing clip.

    9. Object Number: 1797822 Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose fitting from the power steering gear. Discard the O-ring seal.
  10. Remove the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Position the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose into the vehicle.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1797822 Size: SH
  2. Using a NEW O-ring seal, connect the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose fitting to the power steering gear.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose fitting to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  3. Using a NEW O-ring seal, connect the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose fitting to the power steering pump.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose fitting to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  4. Connect the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose to the routing clip.
  5. Install the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement .
  6. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  9. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .
  10. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  11. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  12. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
