Any model not listed above will continue to have the current supplier's version installed and programming will remain as it is today. Should this situation change in the future, you will be advised.
Because of the need to phase in production over the above time window for the above vehicles, please understand that you will have some of your 2007 model year inventory in these models equipped with the current supplier's version of Universal Home Remote and some equipped with the new supplier's version (until all inventory of the current supplier's version has been exhausted). To distinguish the two components, the new supplier's version has 3 LED lights located above the Universal Home Remote's buttons. The current supplier's component has just 1 LED located to the side of the buttons.
We would ask that you ensure that customers are clear which supplier's version they have on their vehicle during the vehicle delivery process. The following support materials are available to you and your customers:
• | A tri-fold sheet "quick start" guide which is being provided to you to give to the customer during delivery. We expect initial distribution of the tri-fold to take place the week of July 10th. Any subsequent needs you have for additional pieces can be fulfilled through the DWD store available on GM Dealerworld. There is no charge for this tri-fold except normal shipping charges, if applicable. |
• | A website, hosted by Lear Corporation (new supplier) for both customer and dealer use. The website can be accessed via www.learcar2u.com. On this website, complete programming instructions, instructional videos, and FAQ's can be found along with contact information for Lear. |
• | A customer call center staffed by knowledgeable people to assist your customers if they have programming difficulties. Additional dealer support is also available through this call center. The number for this call center is 1-866-57Car2U. |
The website and customer call center are currently up and running so feel free to contact them should you have questions regarding this transition.
We expect that the above levels of support should get dealers and customers through the transition from the current supplier to the new supplier. Thank you for your support as we work our way through the transition.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
