OCCASIONALLY, FIELD REPORTS ARE RECEIVED INDICATING INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE FLOAT NEEDLE PULL CLIP ON THE FLOAT ARM DURING NORMAL FIELD SERVICE OR REPLACEMENT ON VARAJET, DUALJET, AND QUADRAJET CARBURETOR MODELS. IT IS REPORTED THE END OF THE PULL CLIP IS BEING INSTALLED THROUGH THE HOLES IN THE TOP OF THE FLOAT ARM ABOVE THE NEEDLE. THESE ARE LOCATING HOLES USED FOR MANUFACTURE OF THE FLOAT AND ARM ASSEMBLY AND ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR THE PULL CLIP. SERVICE PERSONNEL ARE ADVISE CORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE FLOAT NEEDLE PULL CLIP IS TO HOOK THE CLIP OVER THE EDGE OF THE FLAT ON THE FLOAT ARM AS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1. IF THE CLIP IS NOT INSTALLED AS RECOMMENDED, CARBURETOR FLOODING CAN RESULT.
