FOLLOWING IS A REVISED POWER ANTENNA R AND R PROCEDURE FOR 1983 TORONADOS. REMOVAL: 1. DISCONNET NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE. 2. DISCONNECT ANTENNA LEAD-IN CABLE AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR UNDER- HOOD. 3. REMOVE RIGHT HOOD HINGE. REFER TO SECTION 2C PG. 2C-6 IN THE 1983 CUTLASS, 88, 98 AND TORONADO CHASSIS SERVICE MANUAL. 4. REACH THROUGH ACCESS HOLE (BEHIND RIGHT HOOD HINGE) AND REMOVE ANTENNA BRACKET BOLT. 5. REMOVE ANTENNA ESCUTCHEON NUT USING TOOL J-28641 OR EQUIVALENT. 6. REMOVE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY THROUGH ACCESS HOLE. INSTALLATION: 1. POSITION ANTENNA ASSEMBLY IN FENDER AND INSTALL THE ANTENNA GASKET AND ESCUTCHEON NUT. DO NOT TIGHTEN. 2. INSTALL LOWER MOUNTING BOLT. DO NOT TIGHTEN. 3. TIGHTEN THE ANTENNA ESCUTHCHEON NUT TO 6NM (50 LBS. IN.) USING J-28641 OR EQUIVALENT. 4. TIGHTEN LOWER MOUNTING BOLT 5. CONNECT ANTENNA LEAD-IN BY PUSHING LEAD-IN CABLES FIRMLY TOGETHER. 6. APPLY A LIGHT COAT OF SILICONE GREASE TO WIRING TERMINALS AND CONNECT WIRING HARNESS. 7. INSTALL HOOD HINGE AND CONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE.
