Some 1990 Rivieras may exhibit a condition where the quarter trim may be loose along the backlite and sail area. This may be caused by insufficient retention of the Christmas tree fasteners to the sheet metal. To repair this condition use the following procedure:
1. Remove rear shoulder belt cover.
2. Remove assist strap covers and assist strap screws.
3. Pull quarter trim away from body to access quarter trim retainers (Christmas tree fasteners).
4. Remove three fasteners from quarter trim or body. Refer to Figure 1. Discard fasteners.
5. Replace with P/N 20750175.
6. Reverse removal procedure.
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
