SUBJECT: SEAT SWITCH PLATES BECOME LOOSE (REPLACE SCREWS AND COVER)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1990 BUICK REATTA 'E' MODEL

Some 1990 Buick Reattas may experience a condition where the seat switch plates become loose. This may be caused by insufficient retention of the screw to the switch plate and door pad. To repair this condition use the following procedure:

1. Remove the cover off the seat switch plate.

2. Remove the two retaining screws from the seat switch plate and discard. This screw has a Phillips head.

3. Replace screws with P/N #11504678.

NOTE: This replacement screw has a Torx head, size T-15.

4. Replace cover.

5. Repeat on opposite door pad.

Use the most applicable Labour Operation and Time from the Canadian Labour Time Guide.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
