INFO. ON HEADLAMP SWITCH LIGHT EMITTING DIODE INDICATOR OPER.

SUBJECT: INFORMATION ON HEADLAMP SWITCH LIGHT EMITTING DIODE (LED) INDICATOR OPERATION

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1992-93 "E, K" MODELS

The green LED indicator operation on the headlamp switch has been revised for 1993 Eldorados and Sevilles beginning with March, 1993 built cars. The LED is located in the upper left corner of the switch and will now be an "ON/OFF" indicator instead of a "FINDER" light. The LED indicator operation for 1992-1993 Eldorados and Sevilles is as follows:

0 "On/Off' Indicator (Revised) - 1993 Eldorados and Sevilles Built After March Change

Domestic Lighting:

The LED is off when headlamps and park lamps are off. The LED is illuminated when headlamps and/or park lamps are on.

European Lighting:

The LED is off when headlamps are off. The LED is illuminated when headlamps are on.

0 "Finder'Light - 1992 and Early 1993 Eldorados and Sevilles

The LED is illuminated while ignition is in the "RUN" position.

The headlamp switches are interchangeable between model years, but the LED operation is specific to the headlamp switch P/N. The 1992 and early 1993 headlamp switches are currently available from GMSPO but will be superseded by switches that have the updated LED indicator operation once stock is depleted. Therefore, in the future when headlamp switch replacement may be required on 1992 Eldorados or Sevilles the LED may operate as an ON/OFF indicator instead of a "FINDER" light.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
