INFO. ON INITIAL DELAYED LOCKING ACTIVATION

THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL MODELS. PLEASE DISCARD BULLETIN #53-90-07 (SECTION 9 - ACCESSORIES). ********************************************************************

SUBJECT: INFORMATION ON INITIAL DELAYED LOCKING ACTIVATION ON NEW VEHICLE DELIVERY

MODELS: 1996 BUICK LESABRE, PARK AVENUE, RIVIERA 1996 OLDSMOBILE AURORA, EIGHTY EIGHT, NINETY EIGHT 1996 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE

THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE MUST BE FOLLOWED TO ACTIVATE THE DELAYED LOCKING FEATURE IN THE RFA MODULE SOFTWARE ON NEW VEHICLE DELIVERY IF THE OWNER WANTS DELAYED LOCKING TO BE FUNCTIONAL. AFTER INITIAL ACTIVATION, THE CURRENT PROCEDURE IN SECTION 9K IN THE SERVICE MANUAL AND THE OWNER'S MANUAL FOR TURNING DELAYED LOCKING "ON" AND "OFF" CAN BE USED.

DELAYED LOCKING ACTIVATION:

1. CONNECT TECH 1.

2. SELECT VEHICLE BEING PROGRAMMED.

3. SELECT "BODY".

4. SELECT "RFA".

5. SELECT "RFA TEST".

6. SELECT "SET OPTIONS".

7. SELECT "OPTIONS 0".

- FOLLOW SCREEN PROMPTS AND INSTRUCTIONS.

8. SCROLL THROUGH SCREENS UNTIL DELAYED LOCKING IS DISPLAYED, SELECT <YES>.

9. EXIT SYSTEM.

10. DISCONNECT TECH 1.

11. ACTIVATE DELAYED LOCKING FEATURE BY USING THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE:

TO TURN DELAYED LOCKING FEATURE OFF (IF CURRENTLY ENABLED) - ==========================================================

- HOLD LOCK SWITCH ON.

- PRESS TRANSMITTER UNLOCK BUTTON, ALL DOORS UNLOCK, DELAYED LOCKING REMAINS ENABLED.

- PRESS TRANSMITTER UNLOCK AGAIN, ALL DOORS LOCK, DELAYED LOCKING IS DISABLED.

TO TURN DELAYED LOCKING FEATURE ON (IF CURRENTLY DISABLED) - ==========================================================

- HOLD LOCK SWITCH ON.

- PRESS TRANSMITTER UNLOCK BUTTON, ALL DOORS LOCK, DELAYED LOCKING REMAINS DISABLED.

- PRESS TRANSMITTER UNLOCK AGAIN, ALL DOORS UNLOCK, DELAYED LOCKING IS ENABLED.
