Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement Left

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the left spark plug wire harness.

  2. Object Number: 35819  Size: SH
  3. Remove the rocker arm cover bolts.
  4. Remove the rocker arm cover.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 35819  Size: SH
  1. Install the rocker arm cover.
  2. Apply thread lock compound or equivalent to the bolt threads.
  3. Install the rocker arm cover bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Connect the spark plug wire harness.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the generator rear retaining brace. Refer to Generator Rear Brace Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Disconnect the spark plug wires.

  3. Object Number: 63414  Size: SH
  4. Remove the rocker arm cover bolts.
  5. Remove the rocker arm cover.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 63414  Size: SH
  1. Install the rocker arm cover.
  2. Apply thread lock compound or equivalent to the bolt threads.
  3. Install the rocker arm cover bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.
