Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 97263  Size: SH
  3. Remove the converter cover bolts and the cover.
  4. Mark the relationship of the converter to the flywheel.
  5. Remove the 3 bolts that attach the converter to the flywheel. Discard the bolts.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install 3 new bolts that attach the converter to the flywheel.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 62 N·m (46 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the converter cover.
  4. Install the converter cover attaching bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 13 N·m (115 lb in).

  6. Lower the vehicle.
