Did you perform the Instrument Cluster System Check before processing?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector C1.
  3. Measure the resistance from connector C1 terminal E9 to ground.

Does the resistance equal the specified value?

Infinite

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the trip odometer reset switch connector.
  2. Measure the resistance from the instrument cluster connector C1 terminal E9 to ground.

Does the resistance equal the specified value?

Infinite

Go to Step 12

Go to Step 5

  1. Depress the trip odometer reset switch.
  2. At the same time, measure the resistance from connector C1 terminal E9 to ground.

Is the resistance less than or equal to the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 7

Repair the short to ground in CKT 376 (LT GRN).

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the trip odometer.
  2. Reset the trip odometer reset switch.
  3. Measure the resistance from the reset switch harness connector terminal E to ground.

Is the resistance less than or equal to the specified value?

5 ohms

Inspect the instrument cluster connector C1 for proper terminal contact.

Is the contact OK?

Replace the instrument cluster.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 351 (BLK/WHT).

Is the repair complete?

Measure the resistance from the trip odometer reset switch harness connector terminal G to connector C1 terminal E9.

Is the resistance less than or equal to the specified value?

5 ohms

Go to Step 12

Repair the open in CKT 376 (LT GRN).

Is the repair complete?

Replace the trip odometer reset switch.
