The fast-pulse lamps on chime sounds when the following occur simultaneously:
• | The left front door is open. |
• | The body control module (MALL) does not detect voltage at the lamps off input CKT 1785 (LT BLU - Oldsmobile) or CKT 549 (PPL/WHT - Buick). |
• | No voltage is detected at CKT 39 (PNK). |
The key-in-ignition chime sounds when a key is in the ignition switch and the left front door is open. When a key is in the ignition switch (the key-in-ignition switch is closed) a ground condition exists on CKT 80 (LT GRN). When the left front door is open (the left front door jamb switch is closed) a ground condition exists on CKT 155 (BLK). The medium pulsed key-in-ignition chime sounds when the body control module (MALL) detects a ground condition at both circuits and there is no ignition positive voltage on CKT 39 (PNK).
The fasten belts chime sounds when the ignition switch is in the RUN or the START position and the left front seat belt is unbuckled. Ignition positive voltage is applied to CKT 39 (PNK) and to the body control module (MALL) when the ignition switch is in the RUN or the START position. A ground condition exists on CKT 238 (BLK/WHT) when the left front seat belt is unbuckled. When the MALL detects the ground condition on this CKT and ignition positive voltage on CKT 39 (PNK), the MALL commands the slow-pulsed fasten belts chime to sound for 4-8 seconds. Voltage is applied to CKT 234 (YEL) for 70 seconds in order to illuminate the FASTEN BELTS indicator.
The body control module (MALL) detects voltage on CKT 16 (PPL) and begins to monitor vehicle distance through the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) input CKT 817 (DK GRN/WHT) when a turn signal is activated. The turn signal on chime sounds 4 times when the MALL determines that the vehicle has travelled 1.2 km (0.7 mi).
The instrument cluster detects voltage on CKT 14 (LT BLU) when the left turn signal is activated. The instrument cluster detects voltage on CKT 15 (DK BLU) when the right turn signal is activated. The body control module (MALL) detects a ground condition on CKT 1845 (LT GRN) and begins to monitor vehicle distance through the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) input CKT 817 (DK GRN/WHT) when a turn signal is activated. The turn signal on chime sounds 4 times when the MALL determines that the vehicle has travelled 1.2 km (0.7 mi).
