Audible Warnings Operation
The audible warnings system informs the driver that one or more of the
following conditions exist:
• | The exterior lights are on. Both of the following conditions are
met: |
- | The ignition switch is in any of the following positions: |
- | The left front door is open. |
• | The key is in the ignition. Both of the following conditions are
met: |
- | The ignition switch is in any of the following positions: |
- | The left front door is open. |
• | A safety belt is unbuckled. The ignition switch is in either of
the following positions: |
• | The vehicle has travelled over 1.2 km (3/4 mi) while
a turn signal is on. |
• | The vehicle has travelled approximately 12 m (40 ft)
while the parking brake is engaged. |
Chime Priorities
When multiple chimes are required, only the chime with the highest priority
sounds. The chimes are prioritized as follows:
- The fasten seat belts warning chime overrides all other simultaneous
audible chimes.
- The key-in-ignition warning chime overrides the lamps on warning
chime if both exist simultaneously.
Chime Rates
The rates of chime operation are as follows:
• | The fasten belts warning chime rate is 50 pulses per minute. |
• | The lamps on warning chime rate is 150 pulses per minutes. |
• | The key-in-ignition warning chime rate is 200 pulses per
minute. |
