Power Mirrors Inoperative in Up/Down Direction - One w/ Memory

Did you perform the Power Mirror System Check?

  1. Disconnect the power mirror connector.
  2. Connect a fused jumper between the power mirror terminal D and battery positive voltage.
  3. Connect a fused jumper between the outside power mirror terminal C and ground.

Does the up/down motor run?

--

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the memory seat/mirror module connector C3.
  2. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) in order to measure the resistance between the memory seat/mirror module connector C3 terminal D (left), or F (right), and the power mirror terminal C.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 4

Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between the memory seat/mirror module connector C3 terminal C and the power mirror terminal D.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 5

Replace the memory seat/mirror module. Refer to Memory Seat Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Replace the faulty outside power mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement .

Repair an open in one of the following circuits:

    • CKT 89 (LT GRN) (left)
    • CKT 889 (PPL/WHT) (right)
    • Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair an open in CKT 88 (YEL). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the outside power mirror connector.
  2. Connect a fused jumper between the outside power mirror connector terminal D and B+.
  3. Connect a fused jumper between the power mirror connector terminal C and ground.

Does the power mirror up/down motor operate?

  1. Disconnect the power mirror switch connector.
  2. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) in order to measure the resistance between the power mirror connector terminal C and the applicable switch terminal:
  3. • Left - the power mirror switch connector terminal D
    • Right - the power mirror switch connector terminal C

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 4

Use the DMM in order to measure the resistance between power mirror switch connector terminal 5 and the outside power mirror connector terminal D.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Replace the power mirror switch. Refer to Power Mirror Switch Replacement .

Repair an open in the appropriate circuit:

    • Left - CKT 89 (LT GRN)
    • Right - CKT 889 (PPL/WHT)
