Power Seat Does Not Move Forward/Rearward Buick

Was the entire Power Seats System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Using a test lamp, backprobe the seat horizontal motor connector from cavity A (TAN) to ground.
  3. Move the forward/back switch forward.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Inspect CKT 285 (TAN) (left) or CKT 296 (TAN) (right) for an open between the seat switch and the seat horizontal motor. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 285 or CKT 296 OK?

--

Go to Step 4

Replace the seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Power Seats System Check

  1. Using a test lamp, backprobe the seat horizontal motor connector from cavity B (LT GRN) to ground.
  2. Move the forward/back switch back.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Inspect CKT 284 (LT GRN) (left) or CKT 290 (LT GRN) (right) for an open between the seat switch and the seat horizontal motor. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 284 or CKT 290 OK?

Replace the seat horizontal motor. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Motor Replacement .

  2. Move the forward/back switch back.

Repair the open in CKT 296 (TAN) between the right seat switch and the right seat horizontal motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 290 (LT GRN) between the right seat switch and the right seat horizontal motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
